ISO/IEC 10646 coding standard includes over 70 000 Chinese characters. 9 810 of these characters are frequently used and thus incorporated into the International Ideographs Core (IICORE). IICORE can be implemented in devices with limited memory, input/output capability, and/or applications where the use of complete ISO/IEC 10646 ideographs repertoire is not feasible.
This web-based tool can classify characters of a given passage into various categories. Users can then review those characters not included in the IICORE to assess whether the passage is appropriate for devices and/or applications where the use of complete ISO/IEC 10646 ideographs repertoire is not feasible.
